About the Designer: The designer behind these Christmas amigurumi is @BigBearCraft – whether differing in the embroidery mouth, color-combo, or entire theme, in her small tutorial library, she always presents sets of mini amigurumi and bag charms taught in one guide, cleverly. She is a creative designer who produces irresistible customizations in each of her designs. For example, check her 7-in-1 mini Sanrio octopuses, 4 strawberry donuts, and 6-in-1 heart Christmas ornaments. I love her Christmas series that includes a polar bear, Reindeer, baubles, donut ornaments, and more exciting patterns.
Note: In respect of the creator’s rights, there will be no provision of the written pattern. You can watch the tutorial with on-screen written instructions at the end of this post.
Crochet Mini Christmas Bears Tutorial
Skill Level: Beginner – Intermediate. The polar bear pattern is worked from the head to the body without any sewing by working in the round. You will be working with the same single crochet, increase, decrease, chain stitch, slip stitch for the main working and the popcorn stitch for the no-sew arms and the legs. Color-change for the sweater and working with multiple colors for tapestry patterns and stripes.
Some rounds also need the BLO stitching. The small parts like ears need the same stitches and require sewing them. Crocheting the Santa hat polar bear with a homemade pom-pom, headphones, and the scarf is also quite easy!
Tutorial Timing: Approximately 42 Minutes (perfect for learning the basic chubby amigurumi body that will be used for many other projects, like crochet cat, other bears, dog, and many other animals. Holding two yarns together, crocheting small wearables whose patterns can be extended for large sizes, and no-sew techniques like making a sweater look without sewing are all special techniques to learn. So, the tutorial is simply worth watching!)
Personalization Tips: The tutor presents three color-combos for the sweater – purple and green, red and white, green, white, and red. Each stripe is unique, but all are wavy. You can also customize for a grizzly or a panda by using brown or black color. You can also crochet one in chenille yarn for a large and plush polar bear amigurumi. Crochet any of the accessories and make sure to add a keyring!
Pattern Type: A detailed on-screen written pattern is available if you find written instructions easy to follow along with.
