So, follow this stitch-by-stitch tutorial to crochet the complete set of three Christmas head trees. You will crochet the same tiered mini Christmas tree with layers of different colors, but with the last one having crochet heads of animals.

Crochet Christmas Tree Amigurumi Tutorial

Skill Level: Intermediate. You will crochet each Christmas tree from flat pieces that are later stacked and assembled to complete the tiered tree. First, you will crochet the heads of the animals, starting with the crochet sleepy capybara by working in the round using single crochet, and later a combination of half-double crochet and double crochet for the wavy border. The scalloped edges of the tree pieces are created by changing to taller stitches like the Half Double Crochet and Double Crochet (DC), including DC Increases to form a decorative ruffle.

Unique techniques include crocheting the small bear ears directly onto the top tree part by surface-stitching. The pieces are then joined using a darning needle and long yarn tails, followed by the addition of embroidered facial features.

(perfect for learning the shell edging that is used in so many crochet projects, from gingerbread man icing hair to crochet ghosts’ bottom and crochet Labubu clothes. Personalization Tips: You can select any color for each layer. The tutor uses red, green, light green, and another shade of green. You can easily customize for other animals, such easier for grizzly bear Christmas tree. The star can be replaced with a crocheted bow or a different small ornament for the treetop. You can also crochet the white edging for the last round of the layer. The tutor uses store-bought tiny appliques.

For decoration, you can use various embellishments like different-colored small beads, sequins, or even embroider small French knots to mimic lights, giving each tree a unique holiday look.
