How to Crochet Capybara Christmas Amigurumi with Accessories
Last time, we shared a tutorial on an amigurumi capybara for Halloween, and now we found one for Christmas, too. So, learn how to crochet this no-sew Christmas capybara with accessories presented by Xuxu Crochet in a stitch-by-stitch tutorial for absolute beginners. This amigurumi follows the popular sleeping capybara pattern with three fun additions like a Santa hat with fuzzy yarn details, a miniature shoulder bag, and a candy cane in hand. With the brown brush stroke in the muzzle, it gets the color naturally, no need for color changes. Crochet it as a bag charm, desk buddy (since it can sit), and a Christmas tree ornament.
Learning how to crochet the complete set of sleepy capybara and the accessories won’t take more than 45 minutes. You can follow the pattern as you go. So, if you have made up your mind to crochet the complete Christmas capybara buddy pattern, continue reading this post till the end. There you will find the complete tutorial!

Crochet Santa Capybara Amigurumi Tutorial
Skill Level: Beginner – Intermediate. The sleeping capybara pattern is crocheted as a one-piece using no-sew techniques and by working around a high-width oval base. It needs a slip knot beginning, working around chain stitch, and increasing. The main stitch is single crochet, as usually used for amigurumi (gives a tight finish). The pattern proceeds from bottom to top using a decreasing pattern. For the kawaii arms and legs, you will also place bobble stitch. After crocheting the capybara, make the ears using surface-stitching and color changes.
For the increasing pattern of the Santa hat, you will also work with the fuzzy yarn. Using chains, you can crochet the handle for your bag. Overall, everything is easy!
Tutorial Timing: Approximately 48 minutes for the complete set. (perfect for learning the hugely popular sleeping capybara pattern that has been customized just in infinite ways, from capybara with frog backpack to capybara mermaid and even capybara pumpkin. Plus, learn how to work with the fuzzy yarn, the bobble stitch as a no-sew technique for crocheting animal dolls, the crochet Santa hat for projects like crochet bears and much more. So, the detailed tutorial is worth watching. The popular capybara embroidery is also lovely!)
Personalization Tips: The large plush version of the crochet capybara will be much huggable thanks to the one-piece body. So, you can use the super bulky yarn as found in a tutorial. You can also crochet a tiny striped scarf instead of a bag, as in the crochet reindeer. I think the capybara with safety beads looks much more adorable. To crochet the candy cane, all you need is to twist the yarns around a craft wire and then bend it. You should retain the off white shade to give a classic feel and retain the fuzz yarn.
Pattern Type: A detailed on-screen written pattern is available if you find written instructions easy to follow along with. The written instructions are in US terms.
