About the Designer: The designer behind this bear for Christmas keychain is @BigBearCraft – whether differing in the embroidery mouth, color-combo, or entire theme, in her small tutorial library, she always presents sets of mini amigurumi and bag charms taught in one guide cleverly. She is a creative designer and produces irresistible customizations in her each designs. For example, check her 7-in-1 mini Sanrio octopuses, 4 strawberry donuts, and 6-in-1 heart Christmas ornaments. I love her Christmas series that includes polar bear, Reindeer, baubles, donut ornaments, and more exciting patterns.
Note: In respect of the creator’s rights, there will be no provision of the written pattern. You can watch the tutorial with on-screen written instructions at the end of this post.
Crochet Accessorized Bear Tutorial
Skill Level: Beginner – Intermediate. The bear’s body is worked in rounds from the head to the body without the arms and legs, and without any sewing. You will be using the single crochet as a base stitch, the slip stitch as joining, and an increasing, decreasing, again increasing, and then decreasing pattern. Mini arms are worked in a round as a repeating cylinder pattern and sewn onto. The Santa hat needs a continuously increasing pattern, also needing a color switch.
It is made slouchy by sewing and then sewn onto. Embroidery for the face is needed. For the scarf, simply use a double strand, crochet chain stitches.
Tutorial timing: Approximately 20 minutes (worth watching as you will learn the very versatile no-sew animal body pattern that can be used for crocheting a kawaii cat, dog, and other bears with just color-change, embroidery, and a bit of other changes.
You will learn the crochet Santa hat pattern that can be customized for a large wearable size, plus how to crochet arms and legs that are useful for large projects like dolls, plus improve your sewing to make it seamless.)
Personalization tips: I have already mentioned the customizations offered by the tutor. However, like the mini polar bear plushie, you can also crochet it in white and also try to use the puff pattern for crocheting the no-sew legs and arms. Like it, crochet it using the super bulky yarn, and the result will be awesome and super squishy. While you can use the safety eyes instead of embroidery eyes, the dark thread looks a lot better.
Pattern Type: An on-screen written pattern is available if you find written instructions easy to follow along with. The instructions are written using US terms.
