Crochet Christmas Chick Tutorial
Skill Level: The chick pattern is worked from the head to the bottom in the rounds, with the Santa hat crocheted before the body. After it, you will put the eyes, embroider the beak and feet, add the wings using surface-stitching, and finally, the embroidery blush. As for stitches, you will be using single crochet, chain stitch, and slip stitch, and work the stitches in FLO and BLO for parts like the hat and body. Increase and decrease, as usual, are needed. For the wings, you will also be using the double crochet in the surface stitching!
Tutorial Timing: Approximately 24 minutes only. (perfect for learning the no-sew techniques the same as were used in baby mushroom patterns plus a simple crochet chubby body for beginners. The no-sew Santa hat and pom-pom making are also lovely techniques that can be adjusted for larger wearable sizes!)
Personalization Tips: You can crochet this chick in either white, light brown, or the popular yellow. To test your skills, surface-stitch the crochet beak instead of sewing with yarn. You can also change this crochet chick to a baby duck pattern using the color changes or making a beak similar to ducks. You can also crochet it in a large size by using the super bulky yarn. Customize the hat by using the green and white color combo like in the crochet mini bear plushie.
Pattern Type:Â The on-screen written pattern is available if you find written instructions easy to follow along with. Also, the tutorial is slow-paced.
