Crochet Easy Christmas Tree Tutorial

Skill Level: Beginner – Intermediate. This flat Christmas tree pattern is worked in back-and-forth rows from bottom to the top tip as a triangle using a chain for the foundation and turning plus single crochet as a base stitch.

For turning the straight rows into an arrow, the tutor uses decreases in the middle of every row. For ribbed texture, the whole pattern is worked in the Back Loop Only (BLO) of the previous stitch.

Depending upon the number of foundation chains, you will end up with a (sc, dec, sc) pattern for the 2nd last and single crochet three together for the tip. Sewing, color-change, and weaving in the ends are also needed.

Tutorial timing: Approximately 25 minutes only (perfect for learning the ribbing and locating different parts of the stitches that is used in many projects)

Also, the pattern is easiest of the easiest crochet Christmas tree, which may use multiple parts or be worked in the rounds, and sometimes, using ruffle techniques. So, the tutorial is worth watching for a quick Christmas ornament!)

Personalization Tips: The tutor uses 19 foundation chains (multiple of 2 plus 1 as turning chain) for starting, and after each row, decreases the stitch by one. So, if you use a larger or smaller number, you will need rows as the same number of rows.

You can also use a bit larger beads. Or crochet a large stem, but first, always straighten your work by using stitches of different heights, like double crochet and single crochet, immediately after a color change. Crochet a multicolored tree or decorate yours with tiny plastic toys.

Pattern Type: An on-screen written pattern is available if you find written instructions easy to follow along with. The instructions are written using US terms.
