Crochet Plush Ghosts Tutorial
Skill Level: Beginner – Intermediate. Like any crochet boo ghost pattern, the pattern is worked from head down to body and to the bottom by working in the round without any sewing. You will be using the single crochet as a base stitch, the slip stitch as joining, and an increasing and decreasing plus an unchanging pattern, too. For the arms, you will crochet the bobble stitch as-you-go. Unlike usual, the bottom will also be closed without sewing thanks to decreases. By surface-stitching in FLO, you will be working half-double crochet three decreases for the ruffle skirt. Hat is worked using both sc and hdc.
Tutorial timing: Approximately 35 minutes (worth watching as you will learn a new no-sew closed bottom ghost pattern. Unlike the usual no-sew ghosts, it uses a surface-stitched ruffle pattern, not the shell as-you-go pattern. Moreover, the bobble stitch, which is used in tons of amigurumi, from crochet cat to crochet frog, and many more. Plus, the bucket hat pattern without spending much, which can be adapted for actual wearables, too.)
Personalization tips: You can choose from wide smile, V, and W mouth embroideries for each of your ghost plushies. The tutor also presents a sport yarn ghost version, which still looks awesome, and you can also try it. There is a presentation for the eyes, too. If you are a casual crocheter, you may not have the kawaii eyes, so the tutor showed a version with safety beads also. Whatever the yarn you choose, make sure you are comfortable with it and understand its tension variation.
Pattern Type: An on-screen written pattern is available if you find written instructions easy to follow along with. The instructions are written using US terms.
