Mini Christmas Bear Keychain
Skill Level: Beginner – Intermediate. The whole bear pattern is worked as a single piece by working in rounds using no-sew techniques, surface stitching, and a single color. You will be using a magic ring, single crochet, chain, slip stitch, increase and decrease, plus BLO and BO (bobble stitch) for certain regions, like BLO while going from head to body, and BO for arms and legs. For ears, use the double crochet, slip stitch, and a bit of sewing for neatness. The hat is crocheted using a pattern of double crochet and half-double crochet. Working with the fuzzy yarn is also needed.
Tutorial timing: Approximately 26 minutes (you will learn the very versatile no-sew animal body pattern that can be used for crocheting a kawaii sitting cat, plush polar bear, dog, and other bears with just color-change, embroidery, and a bit of other changes. You will learn a unique hat pattern that is different from Santa and can be customized for a large wearable size, plus how to crochet the ears using surface-stitching, plus improve your no-sew techniques.)
Personalization tips: As mentioned, you can choose from polar bear and grizzly bear colors for the body of the bear, plus green or red for the beanie. You can also use the normal yarn for crocheting the beanie bottom if you don’t find one or are inexperienced with it. Retain the brown thread for the embroidery, as the black one won’t look nice on the light brown body. Crochet one using the plush yarn, too.
Pattern Type: An on-screen written pattern is available if you find written instructions easy to follow along with. The instructions are written using US terms.
