About the Designer: The designer behind this Christmas baby mushroom variation is @pohandmadevn – she probably originally started crocheting the baby mushroom with unique heads, and they just became so popular in the community. These are fruit mushrooms, character mushrooms, fall, Halloween, Christmas character mushrooms, and many other quirky themes. Other than that, she also crocheted small bag charms with animals like fish, bears, and bunnies. You will love exploring her tutorial library. In a Christmas theme, she has crocheted a Santa mushroom, an elf mushroom, and much more!
Note: In respect of the creator’s pattern rights, there will be no provision of the written pattern. You can watch the tutorial with on-screen written instructions at the end of this post.
Crochet Mini Mushroom for Christmas Tutorial
Skill Level: Beginner – Intermediate. The pattern is worked from the elf hat to the baby mushroom body in rounds as a single piece using no-sew techniques. The magic ring is used to begin both the mushroom cap and the body. The chain stitch is used to build height and create a base for some parts.
The primary stitch throughout the project is the single crochet. For starting the body of the mushroom, you will also work the stitches in BLO and use BO bobble stitch for the arms.
To shape the mushroom, use increase stitches (crocheting two single crochet stitches into one) and decrease stitches (reducing the number of stitches in a round). Additionally, the popcorn stitch is used to create legs and arms in the mushroom body.
Tutorial Timing: 34 minutes only (like the previous Christmas mushroom project, perfect for learning starting baby mushroom amigurumi while getting a Christmas ornament, which is one of the most versatile amigurumi patterns you can learn. However, it lacks a more versatile bucket hat pattern.
With this, you can crochet even the reindeer amigurumi, elf mushroom, Halloween mushroom, animal mushroom, and many more things. You can easily adjust the hat pattern for large sizes!)
Personalization Tips: You can also add a simple mouth to your baby mushroom, or also crochet a plush version using bulky yarn. You can also sew little Santa face or crochet a simple belt like in the elf mushroom. Always sew a tiny string for using it as a bag charm or keyring for using as keyring. The hat can also be customized with a striped pattern or using a different color like the green and white.
Pattern Type: An on-screen written pattern is available if you find written instructions easy to follow along with. The pattern is written in US terms.
