Crochet Santa Plushie Tutorial
Skill Level: Beginner – Intermediate. Santa’s main body is worked from the bottom up to the top as a single piece by working in the round and making color changes. For clarity of watching, you will learn it using a thin yarn. You will be using the same single crochet, chain, slip stitch, increase, and decrease, along with the BO (bobble stitch) for crocheting the arms and the legs.
Working back-and-forth, learn how to crochet the beard using a combination of slip stitch and half-double crochet clusters in one stitch. The edging of the Santa hat also uses crochet, the FLO stitches, and the bobble stitch. Overall, you will need minimal sewing for the smaller parts.
Personalization Tips: If you want a sleek, velvety finish, use the chenille yarn or a regular amigurumi, the worsted yarn. A thin yarn will result in a smaller Santa amigurumi, while the thick yarn will result in a large size, much larger if you use super bulky yarn. You can skip the edging of the hat, also! For a personalized feel, you can also choose the green and yellow color scheme. For a gnome feel, omit the eyes and make a beard from crochet pieces!
Tutorial Timing: 54 Minutes (perfect for learning the no-sew techniques like bobble stitch limbs, head, and body as a single piece, and the FLO for making the edging as you go. It will certainly improve your amigurumi designing thanks to the detailed instructions for instructions. So, the tutorial is worth watching to learn how to work with small details precisely!)
Pattern Type: A detailed on-screen written pattern is available if you find written instructions easy to follow along with. The pattern is written in US terms.
