Abbreviations in Backpack Pattern  

Check out the following abbreviations for understanding the crochet bag pattern:

  1. Single Crochet (sc): Insert hook, yarn over, pull up loop, yarn over, pull through both loops on the hook.
  2. Increase (inc): Work two single crochet in the same stitch.
  3. Split Single Crochet: Insert the hook into the ‘V’ of the stitch.
  4. Tapestry Crochet/Colorwork: Carry the passive yarn along.
  5. Decrease (dec): Insert in the first one, pull up a loop, insert in the second stitch, pull up a loop, and pull through three loops.

The Techniques

  1. Working in Rows (Flap): Work in back and forth rows, turning the work, and use a turning chain for height.
  2. Twisted Drawstring Cord: Stretch and twist a long strand of yarn.
  3. Yarn Joining: Join new yarn (or a new skein) using double-sided tape.
