A Bit About the Designer: The designer behind this Christmas applique project is @Lilyrosycrafts – before starting the 10-minute Christmas coaster series and Labubu outfit, she was engaged in crocheting realistic crocheted flowers, flower plants, and flower pouches. She has tried a wide array of flowers, including roses, sunflowers, daisies, and lilies of the valley, and is particularly known for its popular projects that integrate these flowers into large items, such as the trendy bouquet blankets and floral accessories like the crochet rose bag. You will especially love her apple and Santa coaster and crochet Christmas stocking for this Christmas!

Crochet Gingerbread for Christmas Tutorial
Skill Level: Beginner – Intermediate. You will crochet this gingerbread by gluing together two appliques crocheted in rounds as two separate pieces (the head and the body). The head is simply a crochet circle of double crochet stitches in one row. The gingerbread body starts similarly, but then uses the long chains to crochet the legs and arms.
For the top, it also uses single crochet stitches. Attach the new color and slip stitch all around at the corners. The crochet bow applique will be crocheted by working in the back-and-forth rows and making a knot around. You can glue everything in the end.
Tutorial timing: Just about 11 minutes only (to crochet the dual-layer gingerbread, you will need double the time as one applique. perfect for learning crochet shaping while working in the rounds, applique designing through chaining, and the popular slip stitch edging as seen in the crochet Santa hat.
The actual crochet applique will also take no longer than the teaching time, so you can crochet it as-you-go since every row is taught. The pattern is very basic and easy for beginners. You will especially love crocheting a bow!)
Personalization Tips: Crochet either the red or green bow. For a cute look in your crochet gingerbread, you can also crochet an embroidered face in dark brown with a smile. You can easily crochet it in a smaller or larger size by adjusting the size of the head, the base body round, and the chain stitches, plus rows for the limbs. The tutor suggests that if you don’t want the two-sided applique, sew the body and the head at the back. The tutor, however, crochets it by attaching two pieces.
Pattern Type: A detailed on-screen written pattern is available if you find written instructions easy to follow along with. The pattern is written in US terms.
