Free Crochet Watermelon Slice Keychain Pattern for Summer
Prepare yourself for summer with this 3D watermelon slice amigurumi, following this free and complete written pattern. This watermelon pattern is simple and lets you crochet a medium-sized watermelon using thin yarn and without sewing. You will need neat color-changes and basic embroidery for the seeds.
It requires the standard oval base for the beginning. You can crochet one along with the other fruits I have shown patterns of. That is an avocado, a pear, and more. I will share both the UK and US patterns here.
The designer behind this fruit amigurumi is @NITKA_KZ – she has quite a good grasp on kawaii amigurumi designing with added cuteness and surprises. More tutorials:

- Add the remaining fiberfill to the watermelon tip.
- Use a toothpick or crochet hook to push stuffing into the corners.
- Shape the piece into a flat triangular slice, not round.
Embroidering Seeds
- Thread a needle with black yarn and bring it up through the red section.
- Stitch seeds in a 3-2-1 triangular pattern:
- Bottom row: 3 small vertical stitches
- Middle row: 2 vertical stitches
- Top row: 1 vertical stitch near the tip
- Repeat the same pattern on the other side of the slice.
