Crochet Goose Bag Pattern For Summer Parties

Step by Step Pattern:
Materials List
Main Yarn: Brick Yarn (Cream/Ivory) — 1 ball (approx. 300g).
Contrast Yarn: Brick Yarn (Gold Mustard or Cheddar Yellow) — approx. 50g for the beak and mini bag.
Embroidery Thread: Black (small amount for eyes).
Crochet Hook: 10mm (Jumbo hook).
Hardware: Magnetic button for closure.
Tools: 2 stitch markers, scissors, large yarn needle, and a thinner needle for embroidery.
Optional: 6mm safety eyes (screw-type).

Step-by-Step Pattern
1. Main Bag Body
Foundation: Ch 6.
Round 1: Start in the 2nd ch from hook (work in the back bumps/humps of the chain). 1 inc, 3 sc, 3 sc in the last ch. Turn to work along the other side of the chain: 3 sc, 1 sc in the last st (same as the first inc). Sl st to first st. [12 sts]
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 inc, 3 sc, 3 inc, 3 sc, 1 inc. Sl st. [18 sts]
Round 3: Ch 1, (1 sc, 1 inc) x 2, 3 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc) x 3, 4 sc, 1 inc. Sl st. [24 sts]
Round 4: Ch 1, (2 sc, 1 inc) x 2, 3 sc, (2 sc, 1 inc) x 3, 5 sc, 1 inc. Sl st. [30 sts]
Round 5: Ch 1, (1 sc, 1 inc, 2 sc) x 2, 3 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc, 2 sc) x 3, 6 sc, 1 inc. Sl st. [36 sts]
Round 6–9: Ch 1, 36 sc around. Sl st. [36 sts]
Round 10: Ch 1, 2 sc, 1 dec, 15 sc, 1 dec, 15 sc. Sl st. [34 sts]
Round 11–12: Ch 1, 34 sc around. Sl st. [34 sts]
Finishing Body: Cut the yarn and weave in ends.
2. Neck and Handle
Flatten the bag and mark a 9-stitch section on one side for the neck.
Round 1: Attach main yarn to the marked section. Work 9 sc in a circle. Sl st. [9 sts]
Round 2: Ch 1, 1 dec, 3 sc, 1 dec, 2 sc. Sl st. [7 sts]
Round 3–21: Ch 1, 7 sc around. Sl st. (Continue until the neck/handle reaches your desired length). [7 sts]
3. Beak (Switch to Yellow Yarn)
Round 22: Ch 1, 1 dec, 2 sc, 1 dec, 1 sc. Sl st. [5 sts]
Round 23: 1 dec, 1 sc, 1 dec. Sl st. [3 sts]
Finishing Beak: Cut yarn and weave through the remaining stitches to close the point.
4. Mini Bag (For Airpods/Accessories)
Round 1: In MR, 6 sc. Sl st. [6 sts]
Round 2: 6 inc. Sl st. [12 sts]
Round 3–5: 12 sc around. Sl st. [12 sts]
Strap: Ch 13 (or enough to loop around the goose’s neck) and join to the other side of the mini bag.
5. Assembly and Finishing
Eyes: Using black embroidery thread, sew closed “U” shaped eyes or attach safety eyes on the head section (around Round 20 of the neck).
Handle Attachment: Sew the end of the long neck/handle tube (the base of the head section) securely to the opposite side of the bag body.
Closure: Sew the magnetic buttons to the inside rim of the bag.
Final Touch: Hang the mini bag around the goose’s neck.
