Crochet Animal Jibbitz & Accessories Pattern

Step by Step Pattern:

Materials List

  • Yarn: Velvet or Chenille yarn (main colors), small amounts of pink (blush) and black/orange (details).

  • Hooks: 4.0mm (Size 7/0) for the head and 3.0mm (Size 5/0) for smaller details.

  • Eyes: 8mm button or safety eyes.

  • Accessories: Jibbitz backs, Griptok bases, or brooch pins.

  • Tools: Stitch markers, yarn needle, scissors, and strong adhesive/glue gun.

  • MR: Magic Ring

  • Ch: Chain

  • Sc: Single Crochet

  • Inc: Increase (2 sc in one stitch)

  • Dec: Decrease (sc 2 together)

  • Sl st: Slip stitch

  • Dc: Double Crochet

1. Basic Head Pattern

Use the 4.0mm hook. This base is used for all animals.

  • R1: MR, 8 Sc. (8)

  • R2: 8 Inc. (16)

  • R3: (1 Sc, 1 Inc) × 8. (24)

  • R4: (1 Sc, 1 Dec) × 8. (16)

  • R5: 8 Dec. (8)

  • Finish: Flip the piece so the tail is inside. Fasten off and use a needle to weave through the remaining 8 stitches to pull the hole closed.

2. Animal Features

The Bear

  • Ears (Make 2): MR, 5 Sc. Do not join with a slip stitch. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

  • Muzzle: Use the 3.0mm hook. MR, 6 Sc. Sl st to the first stitch. Embroider a small triangle nose and a “Y” shape for the mouth.

  • Assembly: Sew the muzzle to the center, eyes on either side, and ears on top.

The Rabbit

  • Ears (Make 2): MR, Ch 3, 1 Dc, Ch 3, Sl st into the ring. Pull the MR tight to create an elongated petal shape.

  • Assembly: Sew the long ears to the top of the head. Embroider a small pink or black “X” for the nose.

The Duck

  • Beak: Use the 3.0mm hook and orange yarn. MR, 6 Sc. Sl st to join. Flatten the circle and sew it to the face, stitching only the sides to make it pop out.

  • Hair: Join yarn at the top of the head. (Ch 4, Sl st in the same stitch) repeat twice to create two small tufts.

The Frog

  • Eye Lids (Make 2): Use the 4.0mm hook. MR, 4 Sc. Do not join.

  • Assembly: Sew these green lids to the top of the head. Attach the black eyes directly onto or underneath the lids. Embroider a wide, curved “V” for a smile.

3. Assembly & Mounting

  • Blush: For all animals, sew two small horizontal pink lines just below the eyes.

  • Mounting: Apply glue to the narrow side of the jibbitz base. Press it firmly into the center-back of the crochet head and allow it to dry fully before use.
