Tutorial to Crochet Bat Plushie
This project is a super simple, no-sew amigurumi bat that is perfect for Halloween. You start by crocheting two separate wings using a magic ring, folding the piece in half, and creating a textured edge with different sized stitches.
After setting the wings aside, you crochet the round body from the bottom up. Instead of sewing parts on later, you create the ears by working double crochets into the front loops only.
You also attach the wings directly into the body by crocheting through both the wing and body stitches at the same time. Finally, you pop in some safety eyes, stuff the body, decrease to close the top, and cinch it shut.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner. While the pattern uses basic stitches, the “no-sew” technique requires you to crochet separate pieces together on the fly. You also need to be comfortable using magic rings and easily identifying front loops versus back loops to properly shape the ears.

Super bulky yarn
18 mm safety eyes
Stuffing (the creator uses yarn scraps due to an allergy, but standard polyfill works perfectly)
