Materials Needed

  • Yarn: Cotton or polyacrylic blend

  • Crochet Hook: 2.5 mm

  • Safety Eyes: 5 mm.

  • Toy Stuffing: Polyester fiberfill or your preferred stuffing material.

Tools:

    • Yarn needle (for assembly and weaving in ends).

    • Scissors.

    • Stitch marker (to track your rounds).

Quick Guides for Stitches

Here are the quick guides for the stitches used to make this crochet pumpkin:

  • Ch (Chain): Make a slip knot on your hook. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the loop on your hook.

  • Dc (Double Crochet): Yarn over. Insert your hook into the stitch. Yarn over and pull up a loop (three loops on hook). Yarn over and pull through the first two loops. Yarn over again and pull through the remaining two loops.

  • hdc (half double crochet): 
  • BLO – Work in the Back Loop Only of the Stitch
  • Slst (Slip a stitch): Insert your hook into the stitch. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the stitch and through the loop on your hook at the same time.

  • Attach slip knot and make 25 chains and 25 hdc. Work dc in BLO in each stitch for the round 2 and 3 rounds, work hdc BLO in each stitch for round 4 and round 5. Repeat, round 2-5 6 more times. Fold in half and slip stitch for the 29th row.
