Rnd 2: Work 6 inc (2 sc into every single stitch around). Sl st to join, ch 1. (12 sts)

Rnd 8: Repeat the pattern [1 sc, 1 dec] a total of 6 times. Sl st to join. (12 sts)
Finishing the Body: Cut your yarn, leaving a short tail. Pack the main body firmly with your fiberfill stuffing. Take your yarn needle, weave through the front loops of the remaining stitches, and pull tightly to cinch the opening completely shut.
2. Kitten Ears (Make 2)
Use the dark yellow/orange velvet yarn. Leave a long tail before starting so you can sew it onto the head later.
Chain 2.
Flip the chain over to work into the raised back bumps. Skip the first chain from your hook, and work 1 sc into the back bump of the second chain.
Chain 1, fasten off, and cut the yarn.
3. Fruit Leaf (Make 1)
Use the green velvet yarn. Leave a long tail for sewing.
Chain 5.
Flip the chain to work into the back bumps, starting from the second chain away from your hook:
1st bump: 1 sl st
2nd bump: 1 sc
3rd bump: 1 hdc
4th bump: 1 sc
Fasten off and cut your yarn.
4. Fruit Stem (Make 1)
Use the dark brown velvet yarn. Leave a long tail for sewing.
Chain 3.
Work down the back bumps starting from the second chain away from your hook:
2nd chain bump: 1 sc
3rd chain bump: 1 sc
Fasten off and cut your yarn.
Assembly & Face Details
Placing the Eyes: Press your safety eyes securely into Round 4 of the main body, making sure to leave exactly 3 stitches of empty space between them.
Mouth: Thread your thin black cotton yarn onto a needle. Embroider a tiny, delicate “w” shape centered directly between and slightly below the eyes.
Whiskers: Sew two small parallel lines on each side of the face. Place them between Rounds 4–5 and Rounds 5–6, roughly 1 stitch away from the outer edges of the eyes.
Attaching the Ears: Position the ears on the sides of the head spanning across Rounds 2, 3, and 4. Secure the top corner of the ear right between Rounds 1–2, and anchor the lower corner between Rounds 4–5 (leaving about 2 stitches of space from the whiskers).
Stem & Leaf: Sew your brown stem right onto the dead center top of the head (Round 1). Sew your green leaf immediately next to the stem to finalize your little kitten-orange fruit creature!
