Crochet Heart Carrot Amigurumi Present

Crocheting this amigurumi carrot requires following the classical heart amigurumi pattern (first crochet separate unfinished lobes, then join and continue working). So, you won’t have to learn a NEW pattern from scratch. With all that said, let’s skip to the crochet written pattern.

About the Designer: The designer behind this crochet heart carrot present for fall is @CrochetOli – she makes cute stuffed toys called amigurumi and useful bags for water bottles. How to Crochet Heart-Themed Bunny Carrot Amigurumi

This project is an adorable amigurumi “carrot heart” featuring cute, floppy bunny ears attached to the top. Essentially, it combines the shape of a classic crochet heart with the vibrant orange color and embroidered texture of a real carrot. It’s worked by crocheting two small domes first, joining them together to form the top of the heart, and then gradually decreasing down to a pointed tip.

After making and attaching two bunny ears, you add little brown embroidered lines to mimic the ridges of a carrot and finish it off with a rustic jute or ribbon bow. It makes for a perfect springtime decoration, Easter gift, or charming little plushie!

Materials Needed

  • Yarn: Orange yarn for the main carrot/heart and ears.

  • Embroidery Thread/Finer Yarn: Brown yarn (the creator uses Alize Diva) for embroidering the carrot stripes.

  • Crochet Hook: A hook size suitable for your chosen yarn to keep the stitches tight (so stuffing doesn’t show).

  • Stuffing: Fiberfill or toy stuffing.

  • Tools: Yarn needle (tapestry needle) and scissors.

  • Extras: Ribbon or jute twine for the decorative bow.

Assembly & Details

  1. Embroider the Carrot Stripes: Using brown yarn or embroidery thread, randomly sew small horizontal lines across the body of the heart. Each line should span about 2 to 3 stitches long to mimic the natural ridges of a carrot.

  2. Shape the Ears: Take your flat, un-stuffed ear and fold the bottom opening in half. Use the long yarn tail to sew the two sides of the opening together so it pinches at the base. Repeat for the second ear.

  3. Attach the Ears: Pin the pinched ears right between the two top humps of the heart. Sew them securely to the main body, and add a few stitches between the two ears to keep them positioned nicely together.

  4. Final Touch: Tie a small, cute bow using a ribbon or a piece of jute twine and glue or sew it right in front of the ears.
